It is so easy to prepare, you make it just like rice! I use it instead of rice quite often.
To really punch up the flavor, I always use a stock as the cooking liquid. I like to sauté onions and garlic as the base before I add the quinoa and stock.
Experiment with almost anything you want to ad super tastiness into the mix. My recommends:
Sun dried tomatoes, shiitake mushrooms, peas, bacon, leeks, raisins, pine nuts, etc., etc., and so on, ad infinitum!
